Edinburgh
The Edinburgh-Stanford Link is a £6m research, training and commercialisation initiative, specialising in speech and language technology. The initiative links the UK's top computer science research group, the University of Edinburgh, with the world's most entrepreneurial, Stanford University in California. Funded by Scottish Enterprise, the Link exploits the commercial potential of this research by transferring knowledge and skills into new or existing companies. Speech technology and language processing research topics range from the semantic web to software agents with personalities. The Link also serves as the commercialisation vehicle for the 100+ research staff investigating human computer interaction (HCI) at the University of Edinburgh.

People Maps

People Maps

PeopleMaps exists to help job seekers enjoy career success, by making available to them the psychology of personality profiling, as used by many employers.  Employers are increasingly using personality profiling and psychometric tests as part of their core recruitment activities. It facilitates a greater understanding of an individual and enables employers to make hiring decisions.  Once you complete a short questionnaire, PeopleMaps interprets your answers and produces your psychological profile. The system is based on the work of Carl Jung, the famous Swiss psychologist.  You can get a free online mini profile by visiting the link.
