It was mentioned that 75% of young people forged their CV to enhance its readability. We carried out a survey to a selection of Graduates registered with us and the following are some of their comments
Response
“I have heard accusations of this type before, some careers advisors also encourage the ’jazzing up’ of CV’s. I think the expectations of employers are often greater than that which the advertised vacancies actually demand. I know of no graduate that has taken up a graduate position and felt out of their depth."
“It has long been the case that there has been a corellation between the media and employer questioning of educational attainment and the massive advances that students are making in meeting the demands of better grades and greater qualifications."
"My conclusion would follow that it is the media, employers and the government which are not meeting their obligations to graduates that actualy creates the pressure on gradutaes to jazz up their CV’s.”

"I think a lot of graduates are fed up of being told they are over qualified and under experienced"
Graduate 3
"I have known people doing this as well - it has never profited them at all."
"I would go to whatever length, within the truth. There are better and more productive ways than lying to get an interview. e.g. networking, cold-calling. "

"No I would not consider forging my CV as I would be scared to get caught and made to look worse. I think it is important to be honest about your skills to find the appropriate job"
