How GfG services work
GfG is headed by a Project Manager. Your vacancy will be managed by the representative operating from the Edinburgh office, and will be supported, as required, by colleagues with specialist experience.
This ensures the efficient management of your vacancy and a dedicated point of contact.
Company Visit
The first stage of filling your vacancy is to visit your premises. We will fully explain our service and ascertain your needs. If required, we will assist by analysing and discussing your skill needs. This will help us to write up an accurate job description and allows us to get a feel for your SME and its culture, thus helping us to select the most suitable candidates for you to interview.
Promotion
We have a wide range of promotional avenues to source the best candidates for your vacancy. Firstly, the post will be advertised on our site and throughout our strategic alliances. We have strong links with all of the Scottish Univeristy’s and your vacancy will be advertised in each of their Careers Service. We have a current database of graduates registered with us, each of whom will be notified of your vacancy, if it is within their preferred industry sector or desired job type. This database can be searched for specific requirements and the graduates emailed individually to ascertain their interest.
Sifting / Screening
We interview every candidate with your particular post in mind. Having met with you and seen your offices, we are able to give the graduate an in-depth idea of what the job entails. At the same time we are able to profile each candidate, and depending on how many you would like to meet, select the most appropriate for interview. We also facilitate telephone interviews and can accomodate most other selection processes as required.
Interviews and follow-up
GfG will arrange all your interviews. We only ask that you provide us with a date, venue and times. We can also arrange for you to interview the graduates at an external location if preferred.
After-Care
The GfG service doesn’t stop once a graduate is placed with you. We offer a comprehensive training, support and mentoring package to ensure your new graduate’s transition to employee is seamless and integrated.
The GfG Mentoring Scheme is a free and confidential service to advise and support the graduate throughout the first six months of their new job. The mentors are generally from the business community and have an interest or relevant experience within your industry sector.
The GfG Training Masterclass is a course designed to cover the key soft skills required in all employees. By following a detailed course content and partaking in experiential role play, we cover everything from ‘Effective Selling Techniques’ to ‘Working Within A Team’.
Commencement
We will send our invoice upon the successful offer of employment to the graduate, and his/her acceptance.
Your Account
You can have your own account on the GfG site to view your active vacancies and short listed candidates. Ther is also a Message Centre for contacting GFG Project Managers.
Vacancy Postings
All your vacancies are automatically advertised on the GfG site and are subsequently sent to all the Scottish University ’s Careers Services.
