Creating the Right Job Environment

First impressions count so it is important to make new recruits feel welcome and make arrangements for their arrival.  Recruiting and inducting staff is time consuming for a SME so you want your new employee to fit into the organisation quickly and easily.  A well planned induction will quickly turn new recruits into effective employees and help to reduce labour turnover.

The key criteria to address with a new employee should include:

    • Planning and implementing an induction strategy.

    • Agreeing the job specification and targets.

    • Setting a date for appraisal.

    • Agreeing future training and development for the employee.

    • Helping them to “ hit the ground running”!
